.Up Coming Non-Homestead Renewal
Tuesday May 6th voters will be asked to renew the previously approved 18.0 mills on non-homestead. Please support the community schools with this election. For more information please read the following: School Election, More information, Questions and Answers.

Kindergarten Round-up
Tuesday, May 6th at Bedford Elementary located at 4650 Crossiant, Dearborn Heights. There will be two opportunities to attend this years round up. 4p.m-5p.m and again from 6p.m-7p.m . Registration will begin on Thursday, May 8th through Monday June 16th. Or at the Board Office Monday though Friday, 8a.m. to 3p.m. for more information please click here

Make Up Snow Days
Due to excessive inclement weather days, the end of the 2013-14 school year will be altered as follows to meet State day and clock hour requirements: Beginning April 14, Pardee School will have five (5) minutes added to each school day; O.W. Best Middle School, Bedford Elementary School, Polk Elementary School and Pardee Elementary School will attend school full days on Thursday, June 12 and Friday, June 13.


School of Choice Enrollment for 2014-15 School Year
District 7 will have unlimited Schools of Choice open enrollment for the 2014-15 School year. We will be accepting applications for Kindergarten through 11th grade,Enrollment begins April 7th through August 15,2014. Registration for District Residents
Registration for D7 residents is available Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at Board Office 20629 Annapolis, Dearborn Heights, MI 48125. Required documentation and registration forms for D7 residents.

District 7 Swimming Program
District 7 is offering swimming lessons again spring. Classes begin Monday April 7th for the spring session. See this flyer for more information. Please register at the board office.

Important Elementary Bus Update

Only K-5 students who are registered at the district office for transportation will ride the school bus. Resident families interested in bus transportation need to call or visit the district office to inquire about availability of transportation.   District Office: 313-278-1900   M-F 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Madison resident students who are registered for transportation will walk to Pardee for bus pick up and drop off. All other resident students who are registered for transportation will walk to their resident schools for pick up and drop off.

Students must be registered for transportation to ride the bus.

Dearborn Heights Virtual Academy DHVA is a high school with courses delivered to students completely online! Students are able to work from home and at their own pace. Courses are aligned with the Michigan Standards, will have the same rigor and challenge as traditionally delivered high school courses and will lead to a high school diploma. Please see the DHVA website for more information. DHVA will begin accepting applications for the 2014-15 school year in July 2014.

School Safety
District 7 strives to maintain a safe environment for both students and staff. In December 2012 District 7 contacted The National School Safety Center to conduct school safety site assessments for six schools within the District boundaries.Please read the School Safety Assessment Report to learn more.

Dearborn Heights District #7 curriculum is aligned with the Michigan Common Core Standards. Please see this Michigan Common Core Overview for more information.

Pardee 8:05 a.m- 2:50 p.m, half days: 8:05 a.m-11:10 a.m. Polk 8:20 a.m-3:05 p.m, half days 8:20 a.m -11:25 a.m Bedford 8:35 a.m-3:20 p.m, half days 8:35 a.m-11:40 a.m.

Online Payment for Student Food Service Accounts and Other School Related Expenses
In an effort to make things easier for families, D7 is pleased to announce online payments for student meal accounts. Parents can log in and use a credit card to post funds to their child's food services account as well as pay for activity fees, sports fees and other expenses. Students can type in their ID in the cafeteria line and the cost of their meal will be deducted from their account. See our web page for more information.
